This is no longer a choice. We aspire to move from a model of just "doing less harm" to one that is about "doing more good." As a proudly New Zealand brand, we hold a strong connection to the natural world and a commitment to protecting the health of it. We’re here to explore solutions through the lens of fungi – to do things differently, raise hope, and continuously challenge ourselves and others. This is just the beginning; there’s much more we can do but standing still scares us. We can’t wait to bring you on this journey.
We offer a circular packaging model to help drastically reduce the environmental impact. Our pharmaceutical glass jars are designed to have a long life and be refilled, protect our formulations from UV light, and avoid the need for harmful preservatives. Our refill pouches are made with significantly less packaging than our jars, are 100% soft plastics recyclable, and once the jars are no longer reusable, the glass is infinitely recyclable. By refilling your glass jars instead of replacing them, you’re reducing packaging waste by up to 86% and carbon emissions by up to 60%. All our product and mailer boxes are made from FSC-certified paper, coming from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social, and economic benefits.
We are committed to operating as a carbon-neutral business and reducing our footprint at every stage of the supply chain. This involves measuring our current emissions, reducing everything we can and offsetting anything we can’t. We continue to implement practices on low carbon transportation and our circularity model to significantly reduce our impact. Anything remaining will then be offset and certified through Ekos who partner with local landowners to establish permanent restorative forests across New Zealand. But we know this still isn’t enough, so we’re working hard to become certified climate positive by 2023.
